Here’s a dark instrumental that holds the perfect pace for a hard rap. Rather simple bass drops behind the piano with an organ that comes in every once in a while.
Very dramatic strings help to build up energy and release back into the verse sections.
A lyricist/vocalist duo from Chicago named Indago.
Lyrics
Hook 1:
Now I guess it’s really over,
Messed up should of told her,
Now I walk away,
But tonight baby I’ll see you in my dreams/
Verse 1:
That’s why I’m counting down the hours til the sun’s gone,
Desperate just to see you after everything I’ve done wrong,
Cuz to this day what can I say you’re always what’s on,
My mind, it’s like I looped your memory and made a love song/
But come to find it’s just my mind’s playing tricks,
Cuz similar to broken records or a CD when it skips,
I’m stuck on you and there’s no pill or prescription to fix,
Addiction as twisted as this see when I’m not with you I’m feeling sick/
And if I said that I don’t ever reminisce,
About the time we spent together I’d be lying but how it ever came to this,
Is still a mystery to me but I promise you this,
If I could do it all again that I’d fulfill your every single wish so/
So baby always know that,
Even though I know I can’t go back,
In time or freeze it like a Kodak,
You’ll always be the love of my life, I wish I’d of done you right/
Hook 2:
Now I guess it’s really over,
Messed up should of told her,
Now I walk away,
But tonight baby I’ll see you in my dreams/
And I don’t have a chance now,
Ain’t no way she could see how,
I loved her so, wouldn’t let her go,
But I don’t have a time machine/
Verse 2:
But if I did I’d travel back in time,
Pull a McFly then go back to the future cuz you would still be mine,
And I wish I could say I quit lying, truth is if I did though I would be lying,
Guess I am who I am and I can’t change that but I promise you ain’t ever gonna find/
Another guy that cares about you like I do, how could he after all that we’ve been through,
Now for old time sakes I’ll remind you, that when we disagree it doesn’t mean I don’t get you,
What we had could have been a fairytale, though you don’t see it now one day it’s gonna hit you,
When it does Cinderella I’ll still be waiting cuz the slipper that I hold only fits you/
And it’s too late now to give a damn if we did this right or we did this wrong,
Why try to get along when it’s best for the both of us if we keep moving on,
Even though we both know that it’s over, baby why not try to finish strong,
See no matter what happens inside my heart your memory keeps living on/
And on, and on, so baby always know that,
Even though I know we can’t go back,
In time or freeze it like a Kodak,
You’ll always be the love of my life, I wish I’d of done you right/
Verse 3:
I wish that I, could travel time,
It’s make believe, to make you mine,
Though I believe, it’s not a crime,
Just to dream these dreams I do/
Then I can know, and we can see
If this was real, or fantasy
Then now I feel, it’s you and me
We would always feel brand new/
I know I would, take you away
You know you should, if just to say
This feels so good, and so today,
Baby it’s just me and you/
Hook 3:
Now I guess it’s really over,
Messed up should of told her,
Now I walk away,
But tonight baby I’ll see you in my dreams/
And I don’t have a chance now,
Ain’t no way she could see how,
I loved her so, wouldn’t let her go,
But I don’t have a time machine/

As we are frequent visitors to the city and since we love Ben’s Chili Bowl in Washington, D.C., I decided to dedicate this instrumental to them.
Because of the long history of this place and the awesome food for which they’ve earned their landmark status, I felt it only right to make a song for them.
