This song was originally made to relax to. Of course you may take it in whatever direction you’d like, but if you like to just listen then this feels good.

Electric piano, electric guitar, a harp, an organ, some strings, a very low synth voice tone and some synth keys.

Thanks for all your time spent listening. I appreciate it!

Tempo: 87 bpm

This is a simple hip hop beat with a bit of a 90′s feel to it. I used some very basic filtering techniques to differentiate the hook and verse sections, as there is not much else to this beat.

You’ll hear a smooth chopped up sample over some simple hip hop drums.

The vocal sample in the beginning is from the movie True Romance.

Enjoy!

Tempo: 95 bpm

I found this old vinyl sample that I had, so I chopped it up. I had 16 pieces to work with and I used about 4 of them. This beat is simple. There are no fancy change ups or effects. I’m not sure how the mix sounds; I never really listened to it outside of my house. So take it as it comes. There is a male vocal sample in the hook. The beat is very repetitive but maybe someone can use this. Thanks for listening.

Tempo: 90 bpm

This is a sampled beat that has street written all over it. It has dj scratches over a chopped up and repetitive horn sample. Simple drums and a deep bass tone. Not much more to this beat. I kept it simple on purpose to allow the writer to be more creative on their end and come up with something that can fill in the blanks.

This is my dedication to New York. I love the city! Thanks for listening.

This is a little different. It’s a very simple beat with a synth pad, a piano and some bass. There’s a change in the drums during the verse and hook sections. There are also male vocals in the hook. The lyrics are below.

You should come on over
Come a little closer
Take away my misery
Show me dark fantasies

I made this beat about 5 years ago (from the above release date) on a mpc 2k. I had chopped up this sample into a million pieces and just rearranged them into this. It’s a weird underground beat. No idea if there’s room for any rapping, but feel free to listen all you want!

Tempo: n/a

Here’s another experimental beat. Very short and simple. Just a little Al Green and my drums. All there is to it. No special filters (except a high pass on the organ chops), no special effects. I layered a few chops and programmed my drums over it.

The drums were recorded with no timing. The sample is really difficult because it naturally speeds up and slows throughout the loop. So I had to specifically place the drums where they would fit which created this really off feel. So rappers beware!

As simple as this sounds, it was really a challenge getting the drums together and in a suitable pattern that worked with the sample. Really good practice for me so I hope it came out ok.

This beat was made in FL Studio 10.

Tempo: 93 bpm

I sampled Billi Humphrey – Blacks and Blues. This is a piano jazz instrumental. I have been working more with fruity loops and getting away from hardware more (less room in the house) so I had just bought an Akai MPK Mini controller. I wanted to test it out so I made a sampled beat with it. I chopped up some of the pianos and put them together. I like the MPK so far! Enjoy.

Tempo: 90 bpm

I used a Ronnie Foster sample for this beat.

I filtered it to death, several times. I added a few more instruments and this is what I came up with. Sample, electric guitar, synth, string, piano. Drums were a pain to program but I think they’re ok. Take this beat as is. Mix may be off. Be careful with the bass.

Enjoy.

This is a hip hop remix to the original song “More Than Words” by the band Extreme. I love the guitar riff so much. I just had to put a few drums to it. I see a lot of acoustic covers to the song so I thought a cool hip hop version would be nice. Tempo is in double-time. The faster tempo I feel has a better swing. I hope you enjoy.

Happy Holidays! Have a safe New Year 2012!

The original piano and hook vocals are sounds that were included in FL Studio 10. I simply used the sounds I needed, cut, edited and arranged them and built a hip hop beat around them. I used rain and other sound effects to help direct the mood of the instrumental.
