This time it was suggested that I work with the band He Is We. So I used the song called I Wouldn’t Mind, and this is what I came up with.

I used the vocals from the song in the hook and added a few minor things, but mostly just put my drums over the acoustic guitar. I slowed it down to a more manageable tempo.

I was asked to sample a song by The Eagles called – One Of These Nights.
I actually found an acoustic cover of the song, played by Carlos Alberto Calabrese. With his help, I was able to turn The Eagles song into a hip hop instrumental.
The mood is dark and very different from the original.

I heard a great song by Kimiko Kasai called Butterfly, so I decided to sample it and make a beat with it.
I added lots of things and rearranged a bit, so I’ll just let it play for you. I hope it sounds ok.

A few nights ago, I just couldn’t go to sleep. So I made a quick beat. Nothing serious.

Someone asked me to make a beat out of a song by The XX called Fiction.
He asked me to make it into a Hip Hop beat, and I have to say it came out a little different than that. But I can’t help but let the music take me where it wants to go, so this is what I came up with.
I saw no need to ruin the already beautiful music by The XX, so I didn’t slow anything down or manipulate anything too much. I really just added what I felt over top of the short clip from the song.

Someone asked me to make a hip hop version of the Taylor Swift song – I Knew You Were Trouble.
I tried my hand and this is what I got. Now wether it’s Hip Hop or not, you’ll have to decide.

This song is dedicated to my good friend, Rose. She asked me to sample one of her favorite bands, Motley Crue, and so I did!

I named this beat after me and my wife’s favorite park in Manhattan — Bryant Park.
For this instrumental, I used an old sample that I had that was pretty short. I cut it into a few pieces and created a loop with it. I then found a cool old break beat that I thought fit well over the sample and programmed my own drums over the break.
I took it back to my old sampling and filtering days with this one. There’s not much to it. The sample switches back and forth between the normal and filtered versions, and follows this pattern throughout the beat. Enjoy.

This is a very short sampled organ and guitar instrumental that was made back in early 2011. It is a simple beat and doesn’t have much going on. There’s a few pauses in the beat and some pitch bending effects, but other than that is pretty straight forward. Great for an interlude or quick project.

I found this old vinyl sample that I had, so I chopped it up. I had 16 pieces to work with and I used about 4 of them. This beat is simple. There are no fancy change ups or effects. I’m not sure how the mix sounds; I never really listened to it outside of my house. So take it as it comes. There is a male vocal sample in the hook. The beat is very repetitive but maybe someone can use this. Thanks for listening.
