As we are frequent visitors to the city and since we love Ben’s Chili Bowl in Washington, D.C., I decided to dedicate this instrumental to them.

Because of the long history of this place and the awesome food for which they’ve earned their landmark status, I felt it only right to make a song for them.

Horns and other goodies.

Enjoy!

Here’s a little bit of old school noise for you. Well, not completely old school but that’s the feeling I get when I hear these pianos.

A slightly ambient synth chord and lead in the hook along with a smooth synth bass layered over a deep bass guitar.

3 different snares, 2 hihats, 1 kick.

Hope you enjoy!

Once again, here’s a simple and repetitive hip hop instrumental. Chopped up harp sample with lots of DJ scratches and a very flowable style.

This beat is super-simple, so be warned!

Someone may find this useful I think. Either way, thanks for listening and enjoy!

This is a simple hip hop beat with a bit of a 90′s feel to it. I used some very basic filtering techniques to differentiate the hook and verse sections, as there is not much else to this beat.

You’ll hear a smooth chopped up sample over some simple hip hop drums.

The vocal sample in the beginning is from the movie True Romance.

Enjoy!

Subways is a short, super-simple hip hop instrumental with a funky chopped up sample and hard drums straight from the old school. No fancy filtering or sound effects.

I even threw a few simple scratches in there to help give it that classic feel.

Enjoy.

From The 90-95′s tape.

A very upbeat, lively piano instrumental. There are DJ scratches in the intro and hook. Congas throughout for some flavor.

There’s a very simple bass line that comes in when it’s ready.

Enjoy.

Chill and relaxed, is this jazzy hip hop beat. Cymbals ride in the back during the verse sections.

Not much to this but a smooth sample and some filters.

Enjoy.

From The 90-95′s tape.

Here is a jazzy hip hop beat. Repetitive drums over a filtered sample. There are delayed DJ scratches in the hook.

This time I actually sampled some record noise and chopped it up like any other sample. The noise is actually good filler for empty space and can be used to layer with your drums. So I played around with the noise chops and used some of the pops behind the drums.

Enjoy.

The intro to the 90-95′s beat tape.

This is a chill, good feeling kind of thing. Simple, repetitive drums and a Folk J50 synth that pops in and out of the beat. Simple, nothing to it.

Enjoy.

From The 90-95′s tape.

I decided to play around with some filters again. I duplicated the sample, ran one through a low pass and the other through a high pass. Then I simply turned each one on and off as I needed. There are 3 verses that are pretty fairly similar. DJ scratches and congas throughout the beat.

Enjoy!

I named this beat after me and my wife’s favorite park in Manhattan — Bryant Park.

For this instrumental, I used an old sample that I had that was pretty short. I cut it into a few pieces and created a loop with it. I then found a cool old break beat that I thought fit well over the sample and programmed my own drums over the break.

I took it back to my old sampling and filtering days with this one. There’s not much to it. The sample switches back and forth between the normal and filtered versions, and follows this pattern throughout the beat. Enjoy.

Tempo: 89 bpm
