This beat was made back in 2009 with a MPC 2000. Sorry it skips a little! I had a digital mixer back then, a Behringer DDX3216. I loved playing with the effects that you could create. It was really easy to create new sounds and just completely change a sound.
Here I was just playing with some delays and filters if I can remember. Everything I think was filtered a different way and the main sample has some funky modulation going on.

A very short intro style beat. At the time, I had bought a new digital mixer – Behringer DDX3216 – and thought I would play around with all the nice effects that you can create with it.
This started as an experiment and ended as a pretty cool sounding hip hop beat. Enjoy.

I was playing around one day with my turntables (which I’m not very good at) and attempting to scratch this record of movie vocals. I found this (cliche) Scarface sample and thought it sounded kinda cool. I had already started a little beat out of this old sample I had. I put the two together and got this.
This instrumental is sampled and was made on a MPC 2000. All sounds came from a vinyl source. The drums were programmed over the instrument samples. The short vocal sample is a clip from the Scarface movie.
